Basics In My Bag

Here I am again for another Tuesday with T. You know, I don’t get any feedback on these posts so I wonder if I am just sharing content that is all to familiar. Either way, if you click the “contact” link from the menu or DM me @sowritedesigns on my IG page I’d love suggestions on what you’d like me to write about. But just for today, let’s talk about basic tools for any trade. If you check out the pic accompanying this post, you’ll see the minimal I keep in my camera bag and briefcase. Yes, there is a really pretty prop in there just because I wanted to.

Keep in mind, these get me out the door but there’s so much more. Tripods, diffusers, C-stand, lighting, props and so on. No matter what your gig, you always have the basics. But what about the things you need that you can’t carry with you. In he pic you see my camera and gadgets, marketing materials and my notepad for quick notes. But what about something I call…..a circle of convenience, you know, networking.

I am not from California so when I decided to pursue this entrepreneurial journey, I was pretty much alone. What I’m saying is…..find some connections!  As hard as it can be (it is brutally hard for me), ask questions, connect on social media or even at places you frequent, church, coffee shop, even trade shows. My point……you can have gadgets out the kazoo but without connections, role models, social platforms success is just a little bit harder.

It’s hard enough out here, lean in, you never know what others might be looking for. Be willing to help others while you’re networking.
